The organization was established in 2005 by Mr. Dilip Jadhav, a post graduate in Botany. He has worked hard to make successful tie-ups with several renowned companies such as Reliance Group, Government Projects such as beautification of Nasik Highway and Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai and many more. Several ornamental plants are propagated through tissue culture and sold on a large scale.

Department of Botany, AKI’s Poona College, arranged a visit to this Horticulture Plant, with S.Y. B.Sc. Botany students on 27th September, 2023. Mr. Shelke, the manager received us in his usual cordial way. He gave us brief insights into the aims and objectives of A-One Biotech and its functional outgrowth in the past few years as a leading horticulture industry. He took students around the entire Polyhouse while explaining the kinds of plants nurtured there, their importance and need in the outside world.

Students enquired about irrigation facilities, fertilizers used to maintain growth and the chemical control undertaken to keep away pests and diseases. Every query was answered in detail by Mr. Shelke. He showed students the area where preparation of pots for vertical garden was being done. The workers explained what potting mixture is made up of.

Mr. Shelke explained the process of tissue culture technique by taking the students to its Tissue Culture Unit. Students were not allowed to enter the Laboratory due to strict protocols, but they got a view of the tissue culture lab through huge glass windows.

The educational visit helped students experience the functioning of Horticulture  and Tissue Culture industry. Students and staff bought several micropropagated plants from the sale point such as: Aglonema, Pothos, Chlorophytum, ferns, succulents, etc. to name a few.

In all 42 students benefitted from the visit under the supervision of staff Dr. Aafreen Ahmed and Dr. Rafik Shaikh.
